Seeing the Big Picture

The World is Bigger than You can See!

Being part of the success of others is one of the greatest achievements in life. It gives the heart joy, gladness and fulfillment. It is with the joy of my heart I welcome you to yet another time of Awakening the Giant in You. Am very much honoured to be allowed to affect your lives through this medium. I hope these words will serve as a pointer to a better life.

Today, I want to share with everyone a thought that has kept me going for a while now – Seeing the Big Picture. Let’s start that with the words of world famous American author and lecturer, Helen Keller, who was deaf and blind since when she was barely 19 months old. She was asked ‘what could be worse than being born without any sight?’ she responded thus, “the most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but has no vision” what a way to begin this discourse.

In John C. Maxwell’s book, Leadership 101, he cited an account of Walt Disney owner of Disney World as he wrote on possessing vision. Walt Disney died in 1966 before the grand opening of Disney World in 1971 near Orlando, Florida. Mrs. Disney was asked to appear on the stage of the opening ceremony, when she was introduced to come to the podium and greet the crowd, the master of ceremonies said to her, “Mrs. Disney – I just wished Walt could have seen this?” She simply responded He did! Yes, He did! How do you mean, that he did? A quote credited to Walt read “If you can dream it you can do it”. He literally saw the grand opening of Disney World earlier in the eyes of his mind before it was opened later after his death. He saw the big picture!

“Vision is the art of seeing things invincible”
– Jonathan Swift

What you don’t picture, you can’t capture. You should have a well defined picture of your desired picture in mind. By desired picture, I mean what you hope to be tomorrow though you can’t see it now, imagine it so. The world runs on the principle that whatever the mind of man can conceive, he can achieve. Seeing the end of a thing from its start is the quality of a heart full of light (vision) for the future. You need to build your capacity to seeing the end of your desired future from now. You need to see farther than the present situation around you today, see ahead of the now.

It is time to picture the future. Yes! Picture the future. How? Start now! Take a plain paper and start writing the picture your see in your future. Get on with it now. It is not a joke. Its real! Allow me to do likewise now. I want to picture my future too!

See you in the future.
